CAAT heads back to Lax Kw’alaams

This week we are heading back to the community of Lax Kw’alaams on the north western shores of British Columbia. We visited this community last year and are happy to return.

Lax Kw’alaams is an indigenous community located a short distance from Prince Rupert. The Lax Kw’alaams people are the descendants of the Nine Tribes of the Tsmishian. The Nine Tribes have lived in their territories for more than 10,000 years and their traditional language is Sm’algyax. It’s a beautiful community on the ocean, and they’ve put a lot of work into hosting our team again this year.

This year we have a team of 13 people travelling from across Canada to take part in the clinic. West and East coasters alike will be in Lax Kw’alaams for a a four day clinic starting on November 7th. Our team consists of new members and seasoned members, all of whom are volunteering their time to support animal health in northern communities.

We look forward to seeing the familiar faces from last year and meeting new clients and patients for spays, neuters, and vaccines. See you soon, Lax Kw’alaams!
