A Present for CAAT

Brielle celebrated her sixth birthday in March with a cowgirl themed party held at a farm. Her presents were animal themed too – she asked for money to donate to the CAAT project!

Brielle and her mom exemplify the support the CAAT team has experienced in Hazelton.    It take alot of volunteers to help make a CAAT Animal Health Care Project come together.   Not only the CAAT members who are volunteering their time and expertise but all the local volunteers in our host communities who work tirelessly to make the clinic a reality!     Local volunteers work for months before the team arrives to prepare for the project helping promote the clinic, arrange for a facility to serve as our temporary “hospital,” arrange for accommodation for the team members, organize a schedule to make sure the animals in need are seen, etc.    And the community shows its appreciation of CAAT in so many ways.

• Cash donations not only from a six year old’s birthday but also from grateful pet owners. And sometimes from a pet owner’s friend who gave her a ride and decides to add a little more “because why not.”

• Volunteers who have hot coffee ready every morning when we arrive, help in a million different ways each day and stay in the evening to launder the massive pile of towels and blankets we will need the next morning.

• The pet owner who looks you in the eye and says, “Thank you. This is so important for us.”

• Spoiling the CAAT team with an amazing amount of yummy food:
