2024 – What a year!

In June, we embarked on an incredible journey to Pelly Crossing and Old Crow in the Yukon Territory, bringing much-needed spay/neuter and vaccination clinics to these communities. Pelly Crossing has become our steadfast partner as we work alongside the Selkirk First Nation to develop an Animal Care and Management Plan. Old Crow, the northernmost community in the Yukon, welcomed us with open arms as we supported Veterinary Outreach Whitehorse in their mission to bring veterinary care to the animals in this very remote community. With no local veterinary care options, the pet owners in Old Crow were very happy to have access to essential services for their beloved animals.

In September, our mission took us to Anahim Lake in northern BC and then, in October, to Boston Bar in the Fraser Canyon of BC. Both communities were in dire need of veterinary assistance. Many community members are older, have no transportation and/or cannot financially access care for their pets. We were honored to provide that care. We returned to Pelly Crossing in November for a final educational program push, reinforcing our commitment to sustainable animal welfare programs.

In all, in 2024, we proudly provided veterinary care to 315 animals who would not have received it without CAAT’s dedicated efforts. This was made possible by the unwavering support of our donors, grant supporters, veterinary team volunteers, and local community organizers. It was truly a collaborative effort, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who made this work possible. Together, we are making a difference!
